There were hundreds of correct entries, and our random draw revealed the 10 lucky winners, who all receive £25 Marks & Spencers vouchers. The winners have all been contacted by email. For the record, the answers to the quiz were;

There will be more chances to win prizes in the near future, so keep checking in for details.

Pink Success at the National Courier Awards

A super night was had by all at the National Courier Awards on the 16th September, held at the London headquarters of the Institute of Directors in Pall Mall.

The NCA’s are one of the ways that the courier industry recognizes both individual and corporate achievement during the year, and all the major courier and logistics companies are represented. 2008 proved to be a major year of success for Pink Express and we were really proud to attend and support our staff and couriers. Pink was the ONLY company to have nominations in all four categories and our admiration goes to the following Pink people;

2-Wheel Category – well done to Aggie Tokarz, one of our lovely cycle couriers

4 Wheel Category – respects to Boris Atanasov, van driver extraordinaire

“Contract” Category – where our Facilities Outsource Expert Shane Barclay was nominated

Office Based Category – our long-serving (and suffering!) Finance Manager Mrs. Jean Lowe, who actually did win First Prize in her category, so many congratulations to Jean!

Pink was also responsible for providing the stage setting for the evening, and gladly volunteered one of the Pink Express Motorcycle Racing Team bikes, which you can see in the photograph above, which shows all nominees from all categories receiving their certificates and Champagne! All in all, a super night for everyone associated with Pink Express and well done to all those involved.

welcome back to reality

So that was summer huh? Could have fooled me. However, I do hope that most of you did catch some sun and are therefore refreshed and ready for the return to work.

September to Christmas (sorry to use that word) is generally the busiest sector of the year and Pink Express are all geared up to be there for you. Our new fleet of Bio-Diesel vans are in place, our Cycle and Motorcycle fleets are fully manned, and our famous Customer Service team are ready for your calls. Don’t worry about all the recession hype in the media - for the forward looking and positive thinkers there are opportunities aplenty. As a company Pink Express is certainly looking to expand into the autumn and we’ll be announcing some great new products and services over the coming weeks, and we’ll certainly let you know in good time.

Welcome back xx

Summer Holidays at Home

Its that time of year - when the schools break up, and August commences, we all start to drift away from work and try to enjoy the freedom of a Summer Holiday. This year I’ve decided on a UK based holiday - a week away in Norfolk and a week at home -  just for a change. It’s not entirely due to the environmental issues of flying abroad (although they were a factor) or the costs (mmmm… might be though) but rather just an opportunity to relax without the stress and hassle of packing, queueing at airports, finding a decent spot on a crowded beach……

I know I could suffer from inclement weather, and that, if I do decide on a day trip to the coast in the second week, I’ll probably spend more than on a fortnight in Marbella, but I don’t care; at least I’ll be sleeping in my own bed, eating the food I like to eat, and feeling that, perhaps just relaxing at home is the best sort of holiday you can have sometimes.

Wherever you’re going and whatever you’re doing, may we wish you and your families a Happy Holiday and we look forward to seeing you all return safely and chilled at the end of August.

Raymondo and the Pink Team xxx

Summer is here - apparently!

At least the sun is out today, and the weather is predicted to improve throughout the week, so do enjoy, but don’t forget the sun cream!

The WIN GREEN STUFF competition is now closed; the answer to the question “Who is the only person to have won the Tour De France Seven times?” was Lance Armstrong. Pretty much everyone who entered answered correctly, and the winners will be selected and notified today - well done to all.

Well done also to our friends at Rolls Royce Plc, who entered the JP Morgan Corporate Challenge in Battersea Park last week. They ran a 5.6 kilometre course, along with an estimated 25,000 other runners over two evenings, to raise money for specificed charities. Pink Express was happy to be one of the sponsors involved and we’d like tro congratulate Simon Latimer and all his team from Rolls Royce for making the effort - well done!

Lastly, you’ll be seeing some new Pink Express Vans out on the road this month, as we are replacing all our vehicles with new, BioDiesel vehicles from FIAT UK. We will be publishing some photos and green data about these vehicles shortly, but do look out for the new designs too - they sure are Pink!

Bye for now

An environmental experiment

As part of the Pink Express “Green Forum” strategy, we at Pink are constantly looking for new ideas and incentives to expand our environmental policies. The key factor is understanding the nature of the responsibilities - it’s difficult to see the benefits of working for a forward-looking company with good environmental policies and then ignoring the basic principles at home - we have to consider ourselves, our friends and families, and our work colleagues and company as part of the big picture.

So how can we do this? How can we relate our private and professional lives in ways that provide a consistent approach to our environmental challenges? We will be posting some individual suggestions and projects over the next few weeks - if you have any ideas or experiences, get involved too by letting us know about them, either via this blog, or by email to greenforum@pinkexpress.com
